Intimacy with God is the fuel that keeps the mind, body, soul, and spirit moving in the right direction and purpose of life. It is a place of distinction and honor, where kings and queens are groomed.
\nFrom this place of intimacy with God, we begin to experience sudden breakthroughs and supernatural opportunities in people’s lives. Jesus Christ spent 40 days and 40 nights in isolation in the wilderness, cultivating intimacy before His powerful ministry of soul salvation. He also spent hours in intimate communion with God before His arrest and crucifixion, leading to His exalted status as the greatest name in heaven and earth (Philippians 2:10).
\nThe place of intimacy with God is the secret to establishing believers in the great plans and purposes that God has for them (Jeremiah 29:11). Unfortunately, many believers live in mediocrity because they neglect the power embedded in intimacy with God. The devil understands the potential and power of intimacy with God, which is why he constantly tries to pull God’s people away from it. He does this through the unhealthy use of phones and social media, keeping Christians occupied with distractions instead of communion and intimacy with God, where we can easily hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, our Helper, guiding us on the right path.
\nAnother tool the devil uses to pull us away from intimacy with God is flooding our daily routines with activities. These activities become justifications that keep us away from intimacy. Other factors such as jealousy, envy, hatred, comparison, covetousness, greed, and all forms of sin also hinder us from intimacy.

Instead, create periods and time to disconnect from social media and tap into divine communication through dedicated and consistent study of God’s word and prayer.
\nIntimacy with God is not only a place of fasting, prayer, and meditation on the word of God but also a lifestyle. What we consume and allow into our minds daily determine our intimacy with God. Our words and daily actions reflect our level of intimacy with God. A life bearing and manifesting the fruits of the Holy Spirit daily is evidence of intimacy with God.
