I was going through my diary and I was genuinely amazed at the promises God had spoken to me over the years, through His Word, through the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and through prophetic words. I tend not to write things down in some particular diaries unless I have clarity on what God is saying, so when I revisit those pages, I know what is there is real. Reading through them recently, I was moved by just how far God has brought me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of what I wrote years ago has already come to pass. Much more is still on the way. But one thing stood out: I had written about God leading me through strange paths, a kind of wilderness experience (filled with challenges) and the prompting He gave that no matter what the situation looks like, I should not lean on my own strength but on God\u2019s strength on the path to where he is leading me. At the time of writing, I did not know when any of it would happen. But recently, I have been through genuinely difficult seasons, standing at a crossroads, still gripping God\u2019s promises, trying to keep the bigger picture in view. Have you ever felt that way?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the middle of this season, I have been tempted to doubt or to wonder whether I truly heard God. On one of those difficult nights, I cried out to Him, asking if He still remembered His promises to me, confessing in case I had missed the mark somewhere. The very next day, a sister I fellowship with told me God had laid a message on her heart for me that I was not to doubt Him, and that He had seen me through the wilderness. I was in complete awe. That is the kind of God we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, when the things God has spoken seem to be taking longer than expected to appear in the physical realm, we are tempted to give up too quickly. But there is a fullness of time that God has already determined. God does not speak merely to entertain us. When He speaks, it is done and it will surely manifest at the right time. Remember: there is the time of the promise, there is the process (waiting room), and there is the time of its manifestation.<\/em><\/strong> The process may be short or long depending on God\u2019s timing. The waiting is not wasted. It is where you are being made ready and shaped into the kind of person who can carry the promise diligently. Beware, if you miss the process, you may miss the manifestation of the promise. Do not abort the waiting process which may be filled with so much uncertainty. Rather, hold on to faith in God in times of uncertainty for God has not forgotten you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality \u2014 faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].\u201d <\/em>(Hebrews 11:1 AMP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith, as the scripture reminds us, is the assurance of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed) even when they are not yet visible to our eyes. In Luke 2, in the narrative of the birth of Jesus Christ we meet Anna, a woman who had caught hold of the promise of the coming Messiah – Jesus Christ and in faith prayed for many years. \u201cThere was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old, and had lived with her husband for seven years after her marriage, and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She did not leave the [area of the] temple, but was serving and worshipping night and day with fastings and prayers. She, too, came up at that very moment and began praising and giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all who were looking for the redemption and deliverance of Jerusalem.\u201d <\/em>(Luke 2:36\u201338 AMP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Jewish custom at the time, young women typically married around the age of fourteen. Anna\u2019s marriage lasted seven years, meaning she likely became a widow in her early twenties. Imagine the pain she was going through. Yet she held on. She prayed in the temple, fasting and worshipping, for at least sixty years. And the prophecy came to pass. She was there to see Jesus Christ with her own eyes and she continued to speak of Him. God is not a man that He should lie. He is the Omnipotent God \u2014 all-powerful, possessing absolute and unlimited authority over all things. There is nothing outside of His ability to accomplish within His will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes it may feel as though God is absent, but He is always right there. The path that seems filled with more challenges than you can bear is often the very path that will make your faith testimony greater and reveal His glory. Consider Lazarus. While those around Jesus wondered why He had seemingly delayed to visit sick Lazarus, even allowing Lazarus to die, Jesus had a different perspective entirely. Lazarus\u2019 death was for God to manifest His resurrection power, an expression of God that was not known. The crowd that gathered at Lazarus\u2019 tomb witnessed something the world had not seen before. What seemed like God\u2019s absence was actually God\u2019s perfect timing. Lazarus\u2019 situation appeared hopeless and delayed, but it became one of the most powerful testimonies of Jesus\u2019 dominion over everything – even death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If God has spoken a word to you through His Word, through specific promptings of the Holy Spirit, or through other ways He communicates, and you are sure of His voice which is in alignment with His Word and you are dwelling in Him, walking with Him, waiting on Him in prayer and doing the task you have to be doing that season, then do not give up when it feels like the manifestation of the promise is tarrying a lot. Keep holding on. He who gave the word is able to bring it to pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let the testimonies of others build your faith. Study the Word of God so you can know Him more deeply because the more you know God, the more your trust in Him will grow. Intentionally pray His Word over your life and ask for the grace to sail through this waiting season. Your faith testimony will be ground-breaking. God will use your story to reveal dimensions of Himself that the world does not yet know. He will glorify Himself through your story. Following God all the way would always lead to the fulfilment of His purpose and the revelation of His glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hold on in faith. God has not forgotten you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
