My faith story:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I was\u00a0born into a\u00a0Christian home. I made a personal decision to give my life to Christ after reading\u00a0\u201cHe Came to Set the Captives Free\u201d<\/em> by Rebecca Brown. Soon after I was attacked with severe depression which almost crippled me for one semester and went on and off for many years. I felt use less and not worthy to have all the blessings I had. It\u00a0wasn\u2019t until I read,\u00a0\u201cThe Purpose Driven Life<\/em>\u201d by Pastor Rick Warren did I break free from the bondage of depression. I had a conversation with our Lord and Savior who told me my purpose. It was the most\u00a0beautiful\u00a0experience ever. Not only had he called me to be a medical doctor, He had also called me to write books for young adults to\u00a0glorify His\u00a0Holy name. Now even when the\u00a0devil tries to attack me with feelings of worthlessness, I\u2019m like\u00a0\u201cmm mm, nope. we are not going to play that. I\u2019m not\u00a0worthless, God has a specific plan\u00a0designed for my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

My\u00a0motivations to write the book<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

I really enjoy reading mystery and drama fiction novels. Ever since I was a child, I\u2019ve been writing short stories and plays for my own amusement or for my friends. Growing up, I didn\u2019t see many examples of African-American authors, so I didn\u2019t feel it was worthwhile publishing a book. It was after I went to two book signings for African-American authors in 2016 that I felt led to write and publish this book. In addition, I wanted to write <\/span>\"\"a book to bring glory to God even in the midst of drama and betrayal.\u00a0<\/span>I use fiction to show how God can restore anyone, no matter how damaged you are.<\/p>\n

My Encouragement to other young Writers<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to tell other writers, it\u2019s\u00a0never too late to start. You just have to develop some self discipline to start and finish the book. Also you don\u2019t have to get any writing degree or training to write a book. Just let God lead you. My\u00a0favorite part of the writing process was getting a writer\u2019s blog and just praying about it. Within a day, God showed me what to write and how to continue. It was such an amazing back and forth\u00a0experience. Even with the title, I\u00a0struggled for months to find one I liked. Then I prayed about it and\u00a0booyah, I had\u00a0something the next day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
