2017 is ended and even with so many trials and temptations, we are so grateful to God for His faithfulness. As we approach the new year 2018, it is very vital that we look into the future with hope. It’s a tradition for people to make new year resolutions but half way down the year, we neglect and even forget all the resolutions we made because we depend on our own strength to lead us through the year or to keep these resolutions. Its time to re-strategize and plan with God. Planning with God comes with so many benefits as will be disclosed in the days ahead.
\nHowever, the first important advantage of planning with God is that we are conscious of His ever abiding presence and the Holy Spirit activates our spirits and reminds us of the resolutions we made within the year. For the first Seven days in the new year, we will be looking at a few tips on how to plan with God.<\/p>\n
By way of introduction, I will like us to reflect on Proverbs 3:5-7<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cTrust in the lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and He will direct your path.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n Scriptures like this are very easy to quote but very difficult to implement. As the saying goes \u201cits easier said than done.\u201d But when we look deeper, we see that it is a vital truth.<\/p>\n Taking our cue from Solomon, he was a great king with all splendor. Solomon loved the lord and walked in the statutes of his father David. He built a temple, offered great sacrifices to God and God was pleased with Him and asked him for anything he wanted. He could have asked for more wealth and power but he rather asked for wisdom to rule God\u2019s people. This pleased God and God responded thus: 1 Kings 3:5-13<\/strong><\/p>\n
