Faith for the Supernatural: My Testimony

Have you ever trusted God for something with every fibre of your being, prayed in alignment with His Word, held on to prophetic confirmations, believed with all your heart and yet watched as things unfolded completely differently from what you expected?
Perhaps you stood by the bedside of someone you love, someone fighting cancer or another terminal illness, quoting every scripture on healing you could find. You fasted. You declared. You interceded. And still no miracle came. The person was not healed. Or they died. How does that sit with your faith? What do you do with a God who is all-powerful but seems silent?
Jesus said that faith as small as a mustard seed could command a mountain to move and it would move (Matthew 17:20). So when the mountain does not budge, what does that mean? Was your faith not even mustard-seed-sized? Or is there something else at work?

These are not questions born of doubt. They are the questions of someone who is serious about God. Someone who refuses to settle for a shallow, bumper-sticker faith. I want to explore them honestly, and then share what God has taught me through my own journey of believing Him for the supernatural.

What Kind of Faith Does the Supernatural Require?
Before I share my testimony, I want to lay a biblical foundation, because I believe many of us have been taught an incomplete picture of how faith works. Faith is not a force we generate in ourselves and aim at God until He relents. It is a living, active, obedient trust in the person of God. And that kind of faith has specific characteristics that unlock the supernatural.

Faith is Inseparable from Obedience
At the wedding in Cana, Mary believed that Jesus could do something about the lack of wine. Her faith was real. But faith alone did not produce the miracle. What produced the miracle was obedience to instruction. Mary turned to the servants and said, “Whatever He tells you to do, do it” (John 2:5). When they obeyed, filling those jars to the brim, drawing out the water, carrying it to the master of the feast, the miracle happened.

When Naaman came to the prophet Elisha, he had enough faith to travel from Syria seeking healing from his leprosy. But healing did not come the moment he arrived. It came when he obeyed an instruction that seemed beneath him. Dipping seven times in the Jordan River. His pride nearly cost him his miracle (2 Kings 5:1–14).

The question is not only: do you have faith? The question is: what instructions has God given you that you have not yet obeyed?
Faith without obedience is incomplete. Before you wonder why your miracle has not arrived, ask yourself honestly: is there an instruction from God through Scripture, through a prompting of the Spirit, through counsel from a trusted spiritual leader that you have been postponing, ignoring, or refusing?

Faith Activates Prophetic Words
God is a God who speaks. He sends prophetic words, dreams, confirmations, and impressions to His people to reveal His intention and His timing. But a prophetic word is not self-executing. It requires a faith response to come to pass. Think of Abraham. God promised him a son. Years passed. His body aged beyond the natural capacity to produce a child. But Scripture tells us he did not waiver in unbelief. He kept declaring what God had said, even when circumstances contradicted it (Romans 4:18–20). His persistent faith in the word of God brought the prophecy to fulfilment.Whenever life presents circumstances that seem to contradict the word God has given you, that is the moment to declare it louder, not go quiet. The word you hold in faith is seed. The declaration of it is the watering. And in the right season, it will bear fruit.

Prayer is the Key That Unlocks the Spirit Realm
Obedience positions us. Prophetic faith sustains us. But prayer is what releases the fullness of what God has prepared. Daniel prayed for three weeks before the angel broke through with the answer (Daniel 10:12–13). The answer had been dispatched on day one. Prayer sustained the channel for it to arrive.There are things in the spirit realm that are already prepared for us, already paid for by the blood of Jesus, already authorised by the will of God. But they require prayer to manifest in the physical. God, in His sovereign wisdom, has chosen to partner with human prayer in the outworking of His purposes on earth.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 18:18

Some prophecies are never fulfilled not because God did not intend them, but because no one prayed them through. Prayer is not the last resort. It is the engine room.

My Testimony: Believing God for a Child
Now let me make this personal. Because everything I have written above was not learned in a classroom. It was forged in a season of waiting, warfare, and wonder.

The Waiting
My husband and I were trusting God for a child. Month after month, whenever I sensed I might be pregnant, the day I took the test was the same day my cycle would return as if mocking the very hope I was carrying. I grew anxious. But we held on.
Then four friends in the faith, all women whose dreams carry significant spiritual weight each came to me independently with a dream. They had all seen me pregnant. One of them saw specifically that it was a boy. Those dreams stirred something in me. We knew God had spoken. We also knew there was something we were not yet walking in fully because the word of God clearly promises fruitfulness, and we believed that promise belonged to us. The dreams were not merely encouragement. They were confirmation of a time and a season. God was saying: now is the moment. Position yourself.

The Warfare
My husband and I entered a season of intentional, targeted prayer. He laid his hands on my womb and spoke to it with the authority that belongs to him as my spiritual covering. We prayed with focus and faith. I became Pregnant. Few weeks into the pregnancy, he had a dream. In the dream, he saw a little boy crying, reaching out for someone to come and hold him. My husband went to the child, picked him up, and as he held him, he knew with absolute certainty: this is my son. He woke up and told me. That was God showing us that we had cracked open the spirit realm. Our son was coming and we knew the sex before the doctors confirmed it 5 months later.

However, the enemy did not back down quietly. In each trimester of my pregnancy, I was in an automobile accident. Three accidents in total. Then one day, at home in our new house where we were the very first tenants the ceiling of our room gave way and came crashing down on me. I suceeded in stepping out barely a minute before it reached down. How could this happen in a very new house? The mercy of God was the only thing standing between me and catastrophe.

The words from Colossians 3:3 became my declaration through every frightening moment. “…For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” I always laid my hands on my womb and said “Baby, your life is hidden inside me, and my life is hidden in Christ in God. Before anyone gets to you, they must get to me. Before they get to me, they must get to Christ. Before they get to Christ, they must get to God. So there is no shaking.” My husband, steady as a rock, kept reminding me: “God showed me our son. Nothing will happen to him.” He prayed through nights, calling the manifestation of that pregnancy in the physical realm.

The Breakthrough
We held on in faith, not the easy, comfortable kind, but the kind that declares the word of God at midnight when fear is loudest. What we had seen in the spirit realm manifested in the physical. Our son arrived.

That is my conception journey. A supernatural conception brought about by activating faith, walking in obedience, holding prophetic words, and praying until the heavens opened. I will share the full story of his birth in another post because that too is a testimony of faith for the supernatural.

Why I Am Sharing This?
You may be reading this and feeling like your prayers are not working. The situation seems to be getting worse, not better. The promise seems further away than the day you first received it. You may even feel, quietly, that God has failed you. I want to speak directly to you: God has not failed you. He never withholds any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). He loves you and desires to give you good things even more than you desire them. But you have a role to play.
Here is what I have learned:

• Declare the Word of God over your situation, even when, especially when what you see contradicts what He has promised.
• Believe that He is able to do what He said He would do. Not just theoretically. Deeply, personally, specifically.
• Obey whatever instruction He gives you, however small, however inconvenient, however long overdue.
• Seal it all in fervent, persistent prayer. Do not stop before the breakthrough.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
Ephesians 3:20.

The mountain will move. The word will be fulfilled. The miracle is on its way. Keep declaring. Keep obeying. Keep praying.
