Welcome back!! Hope the new year kicked off well and you are ready to plan with God. Today I bring to you the 2nd tip to planning with God for a glorious year which is to “FORGET YOUR PAST FAILURES.”Many of us wish to move forward but we keep holding on to things of the past. Let the past be buried in the past. Give yourself a chance for a new beginning.
2Corinthians 5:17 Says “If anyone is in Christ, she/he is a new creature. Behold old things have passed away and all things have become new.”
If you have decided to start the new year on a new page with God, it is worth bearing in mind that God does not keep a record of your past sins or failures. He takes you as you are.
Do not replay the CD of 2017 in 2018. One of the tricks the devil uses to keep us on one spot and tear us down is “REGRETS”. The devil loves when we regret things that we should have done in the past and did not do or what we should have done differently. He uses this trick to prevent us from taking steps of faith because of fear. Let’s begin to see newness and allow Jesus do new things in our lives.
Phillipians 3:13-14 Paul says “…I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
A New Year is about starting all over again. By the end next week, we should have taken stock of the last year and plan for the year ahead. As we plan with God, we need to take bold steps of faith and equally build our faith in the process. We cannot leave on yesterday’s faith. Our faith needs to keep waxing stronger as the days go by.
Psalms 85:6-8” Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, Lord and grant us your salvation. I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants but let them not turn to folly.”
God has promised to revive us again, on condition that we do not return to our foolish ways. Therefore,
FORGET FAILURES OF THE PAST AND FORGE AHEAD.
Remain forever blessed.
