Godly women of influence

In this write-up, we’ll continue looking  at the qualities of Godly women of influence, drawing inspiration from the Godly women of influence in the bible. If you have not read the first part of this series on women of influence, please pause and read  Here.   In it,  we delved into the lives of some biblical women, to understand how women yielded to God and used their ability to influence to foster God’s agenda. When we look at the stories of these biblical women, we can see the qualities which Godly women of influence have as highlighted below.

They have an intimate relationship with God and fellowship with the Spirit of God.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” – Romans 8:14. “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord” – Isaiah 11:2

Godly women of influence do not influence on their own accord but are led by God through the Holy Spirit. The way of becoming a woman of influence, a vessel in the hands of God to manifest his purposes is to first become children of God. This is obtained through repentance from sinful ways and believing in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, receiving the Holy Spirit and daily yielding  to the Spirit’s leading.

They are women of the secret place.

These are women with a consistent life of fellowshipping with God especially through meditating on God’s word and prayer. God prepares us in the secret place of worship and reveals himself to us through His word which grows our faith and confidence in God. Prayer is the way we communicate with God- talking to Him and listening to God talk to us. Our intentional connection to God and offering ourselves as living sacrifices is our true worship which ignites in us the confidence to go out into the world at the right time and season and fulfill our God-given assignment.

They are “worship warriors”.

They worship God in Spirit and Truth. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:24. Women who are going to be influencers in this world are those who love God with all that is within them. God is their main focus. These women will be in the world but not influenced by the world because they know who they are in Christ. Women who are worship warriors strive daily to live to please God.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)
They are women of great faith.

Faith in God is the driving force for fulfilling God’s plans for our lives. Imagine you were in Deborah’s place, you are a prophetess, are a wife and a judge. Then you notice your nation is in trouble and God leads you to join the men for liberation of your nation. It is not an easy task to do but you notice Deborah kept proclaiming God’s word to Barak and her gaze was on God and what He said and not on the great army of king Jabin who had oppressed Israel for twenty years. Or say you are in Esther’s place and a policy is to be passed which you know will destroy people’s lives and God sends you to influence policies which are in line with Divine precepts. Esther thought she was unable to do this but after a session of wise counsel, prayer and fasting, she mounted up faith and focused on her God given task.

Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4 :15-16).

To succeed in the things God is leading us to do, we must step out in faith. Stepping out in faith entails BELIEVE, OBEDIENCE AND TAKING ACTION STEPS.

Women of Character.

“We are living in a time like never before. We need genuine people with integrity and with the right motives. Our society needs people who are hardworking, diligent and those who want to pursue God. Women who have those characteristics are known as the best worker in their workplace because they have the grace of God. A woman with character is a woman with humility. They do not exalt themselves, instead they are willing to give themselves to whatever God wants them to be. Virtuous women stand because of humility. They do not hold grudges or take up offense. Women and men of virtue are those who forgive and love. They know how to put boundaries and do it without offense.” (Extract from 7-traits-all-godly-women-of-influence-have by King Jesus Global Ministries).

They Embrace God’s call.

We are all called to serve God in different ways. The secret is yielding to God and His leading in the path of your calling, depending on his strength to succeed. Did you notice Esther was called to policy-making, Deborah was a judge, Anna was full time in the temple, Jael was a vocational worker from home, they were wives and had specific assignment areas which they effectively functioned in. This resulted in the manifestation of God’s plans. God has placed talents and gifts in us which if nurtured and embodied in a Godly lifestyle, they will be greatly used to fulfill God’s plans. Did you notice God used Jael’s tent making and milk production skills to defeat Sisera? (Judges 4:17-24). God may not give us the whole plan for our lives but as we yield to him daily, he orders our steps leading up to the fulfilment of His ultimate plan of salvation of mankind.

Arise sister! The ability to influence is an endowment which enables us to partake in the birthing and establishment of God’s plans on earth. Wherever God has placed you is a platform to shine the light of Jesus Christ with total dependence on God.
