The Life Above Every Circumstance

Over the past few years, I have lived in an environment where I witness a lot of challenges as social vices are on a constant increasing rate, with increased poverty levels; increased joblessness; increased marital problems/divorces; increased corruption etc.

Many people especially youths of my community keep striving for successful lives, yet the general cry is “things are too tight”. This has made some to become so depressed about the hardship they face so that they give-up on their endeavors. At certain moments, I also find myself in situations where things seem so difficult for me. I also get depressed many times and in one of such moments I learned not to give-up because:

“I CAN LIVE THE EASTER LIFE”

What is the Easter life?  It’s simply a life above all circumstances.

Take out time to read Luke 24 which is the narrative on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus died and was laid in a tomb which was closed with a stone. On the Easter morning, when the women went to the tomb, they could not find Jesus. Then an angel told them they can’t be looking for someone who is alive amongst the dead. Jesus had RISEN from the death. What does this mean to Christians? Let’s understand something from this

  • Death signifies Pain, trouble etc: Death of a loved one is one of the most painful experiences one can ever have to experience. It is more painful than being jobless, more painful than marital problems etc. Jesus died. Imagine the pain His disciples felt. His death here signifies pain.
  •  The stone covering the tomb signifies obstacles: Jesus’ body was laid in a tomb which was blocked with a stone. Therefore anyone who had to enter the tomb must be able to move this stone which blocked direct assess into the tomb. But when the women arrived, they found out the stone had already been rolled away. Meaning the obstacle limiting access to the tomb had been moved.
  • Jesus’ resurrection signifies life above every circumstance even the worst pain of death: The stone (obstacle) at the tomb entrance was rolled away. Jesus has overcome death (pain) which no other man could do.
From this narrative I learned that there is a life above all circumstances. You can live above every pain! You can live above every obstacle! You can live above every situation! You can live in peace in a troubled world because Jesus the Prince of Peace is ALIVE!

This is the POWER OF THE RESSURECTION. LIVE THE EASTER LIFE – THE LIFE ABOVE ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!

But now, how can we live a life above all circumstances?

You can live the Easter life when you understand and experience the love of God.

That love which caused Him to send His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins.
How can you understand and experience this love of God?
I believe the first step to understanding and experiencing the love of God is by reading and meditating on the word of God. You can begin from here. Intentionally set out a quiet time to read the bible with and open heart. Seek the help of the Holy Spirit to understand the word of God. Meditate on the words therein and let these words through the power of the Holy Spirit renew your mind and strengthen your faith in God. With this Faith, you will begin to understand that in this world there will always be trials and sorrows but you will find Peace in Christ who has overcome them all (John 16:33). With this renewed mindset built on Faith in God, You will be able to LIVE THE EASTER LIFE – THE LIFE ABOVE ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!
