Welcome to the 8th month of the year. The number 8 signifies new beginnings and its a good time to talk about a season of transitioning from dryness to abundance. God is the God of times and seasons. In countries which have 2 seasons like most West African countries, we are rounding off from the rainy season to get into the dry season and back to the rainy season. The cycle goes on and on. Reflecting on this, I’m reminded of the scripture that says “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22. What then does a season of transition mean to you? It could be from planting to harvest, from summer to winter etc. Just like the physical realm operates in seasons, the Spiritual realm also operates in season and it is very important to be sensitive to the spiritual times and seasons of our lives.
It is difficult to talk about a transition season in the life of a Christian without talking about our father in the faith Abraham. In Genesis 12, God called him out of his father’s house into an unknown destination. Abraham had no clue about where he was going but he simply obeyed. We all can agree that this was a difficult season for Abraham. Imagine you leaving your home, your job, everything you own and everyone you know to an unknown destination and when asked about it, the only thing you know is God said I should do so. Everyone will look at you as very stupid right? This was a serious transition season for Abraham and given the kind of wealthy person he was, it was going to indeed be a dry season for him. How many of us have felt like Abraham at some point in life? Where you know very well its time to make a move but you are blank about your left from your right. Or is it a season where you have many plans in your head but looking at your situation right now, you can’t boast of having something to eat in the evening. Yet all you can hold unto is vision and hope in that vision.
I have no doubt that this topic was inspired by God for you reading it today because it is equally a season in which I find myself. Where you know you heard God clearly about making a drastic move or taking a serious decision to leave everything and go along a path you have no clue but all you can hold unto is the conviction you have in the decision you are making because it was divinely inspired. What do we do in this season? If we don’t understand the times and seasons of our lives, it may be difficult to know how to navigate between the seasons. Skipping a season to the next without learning what that season had to teach you may make you a weakly in the next season. Just like Paul says in James 1:4 “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” It is really important to go through every season. Still taking lessons from Abraham’s life, let’s encourage ourselves on how to transition from this dry season into the place of abundance.
-
Seek clarity from God to make sure you are on the right path. Especially if you cannot really discern the voice of God clearly about that decision, it will be good to ask God to give you more clarity through other channels. 2 Corinthians 13:1 says “This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”
-
Trust in God who is leading you along that path. He is faithful and will never lead you where His grace will not take you. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

Stay in Obedience: It is easy to move very fast without any GPS map when you know exactly where you are going. But when you do not know where you are going, you always need to listen to the directions from the GPS map. This means in this season of dryness, we have to constantly be at God’s feet to get the next instruction. When we hear the voice of God and obey it, there is always some peace you have which is unexplainable.
From Abraham’s life, these are some steps He took and at the end we see that the result was abundance. Because of his obedience and perseverance, we cannot talk about patriarchs of wealth and abundance without mentioning Abraham. There is no doubt that these are the keys for transitioning from a season of dryness to abundance. No matter the aspect of dryness. It can be financial dryness. These tips will enable you receive divine ideas from God about a business idea or what to do to get out of it. Is it spiritual dryness? The same applies. As scripture says “Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction” 1 Corinthians 10:11-13 and scripture also encourages us to “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised…“Hebrews 6:12.
I pray that we are encouraged not to give up but to endure till the end in obedience and we will be amazed at the outcome.
Thank you arise sisters
